Gas Systems: Endcaps

Summary of Talk:
John Brooks Howard worked on determining the resonant frequencies of oscillation
of bars which support the detectors on the end caps of the ATLAS detector. Frequencies
in the wrong range could cause movement in the detectors, throwing off
the particle track measurements. To determine the eigenfrequency, the bars were
forced to vibrate using a piezo quartz cylinder and a function generator. The amplitude
of the bar's vibration was then determined. Results from this work will be used
to design the support structures for the detector.

Additional Notes:
This lecture has no accompanying slides. Instead, we present the lecture by itself with higher resolution (320x240), which means higher bandwidth is required (optimized for 80Kbs).
