How to Download RealPlayer

Viewing the video for most Web Lectures requires RealPlayer. If you don't have RealPlayer installed then you should do so now. The basic RealPlayer is free, but it can also be difficult to download and install. Here are some instructions that should help:

1. Go to the real.com download page at http://www.real.com/player/

2. This page will encourage you to download the premium Player for which there is a charge. You may do so if you wish. But to get the FREE player for Windows look for the link to the "Free RealOne Player" and follow that link. Then just click on the download link for a city close to your location.

3. Unix users have to work a little harder. Find instead and follow the link "System Requirements" and at the bottom of that page find the link to "previous player versions"

   Fill in the form and select the version that matches your operating system, then press the button marked "Go to download and instruction page".

Real.com is constantly upgrading their product and their web pages, which means that their download procedures are also constantly changing. These instructions were last verified on 13 March 2002.
